We’ll find out when this custom 1971 Ford Torino heads to auction next month. Yes, there’s a Torino there.PHOTO BY BARRETT-JACKSON The world of car modifying has two rules. One, it’s expensive. Two, you will never get what you put in out of it. This custom 1971 Ford Torino is an example of both points (unless bidders go nuts). Barrett-Jackson is taking this custom Torino, created by Illinois artist Ioan Florea, to its Scottsdale auction next month in hopes of finding the interesting creation a new home. The 1971 Ford Torino is said to symbolize the bridge between the second Industrial Revolution and the third Industrial Revolution.PHOTO BY BARRETT-JACKSON Florea says the car is supposed to symbolizing the bridging of the second Industrial Revolution (the assembly line and the 1971 Torino) and the rise of the third industrial revolution (3D printing). The Barrett-Jackson Scotsdale auction takes place January 14-22. This Torino will roll across the auction block with no reserve.
