Get your beer bacon milkshake here: Texas track unveils NASCAR delicacy

Sporting News staff

There’s nothing NASCAR fans enjoy more than beer.
Unless maybe bacon.

Or unless it’s something that includes both beer and bacon.

Like a milkshake.

Texas Motor Speedway has created just such a concoction for fans at the Nov. 3 AAA Texas 500.

Levy Restaurants Executive Chef Joel Pena has created the Shake ‘n Bacon Brew beer milkshake — a bacon-infused, alcoholic drink.

The Shake ‘n Bacon Brew features six ounces of Rahr & Sons Ugly Pug Black Lager, six ounces of Blue Bell homemade vanilla ice cream and two ounces of bacon-infused maple syrup mixed in a blender. A “Shirley Temple” version with root beer will be available for fans under 21.

The Shake ‘n Bacon Brew will be available for $10 in a souvenir cup.

The heart-clogging delicacy is not the first bacon-infused concession the speedway offers. It joins such menu items as: “Hawg Heaven” bacon cotton candy; the Bacon Martini; “Smokin’ Hubcaps (brisket on a glazed donut); and the mac ‘n cheese hot dog.
